The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Coordinator, University Events on the Dahlonega campus. This position will join a knowledgeable, well-trained, and customer service-oriented team for University Events. The position is housed within the Office of University Events and will be under the supervision of the Associate Director of University Events.

  • Responsible for developing the processes, planning, and execution of university events and special events.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, signage, reports, and planning materials for events.
  • Communicate event information to faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends.
  • Recruit and train additional staff volunteers if needed for large-scale events.
  • Train and support supervision of student staff in the Presidential Ambassador Program.
  • Work in conjunction with the Associate Director to continuously assess the needs and advancements of the events produced.
  • Assist in coordinating the development, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive Presidential Ambassador Program.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Interest in event logistics, protocol, and delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all ages as well as high level constituents.
  • Able to work with discretion and protect sensitive information, knowledge of the university environment.
  • Able to work some nights and weekends as well as lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Bachelor Degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience assisting with large-scale events.
  • Academic event experience preferred.
