Position Summary
This is a full-time position that is intended for up to a one-year period. The Coordinator, Advancement Programs reports to the Executive Director, University Advancement Programs. Daily supervision of the Coordinator will be assigned to the program staff member overseeing the project on which the Coordinator is working. The program staff member and/or director will provide ongoing guidance and mentorship. Project assignments will have specific timeframes and a defined set of responsibilities based on the scope of the project. The program areas may include but are not limited to University Advancement Programs.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist directors with projects on an as-needed basis. Examples include: the development and coordination of special events, volunteer and committee management, meeting logistics/preparation and follow-up, communications/publications, stewardship, and donor recognition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director and project assignment leaders.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelorâ™s degree.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro) and standard office equipment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strength in organizational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of University Advancement Programs and the activities of the department.
  • Desire to play a meaningful role in the Universityâ™s community and to share in the communityâ™s commitment to education and research.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with administration, faculty, alumni, parents, and volunteers as appropriate.
  • Ability to listen carefully, learn quickly, and work effectively in a complex organization. Exceptional interpersonal skills: flexibility along with the demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Desire and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across development offices, as well as independently.
  • Ability to stay task-oriented without supervision.
  • Honesty, integrity, and enthusiasm; a very strong work ethic, supported by commitment and follow through.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification plus three years of work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range
$20.76 - $32.21 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
