To coordinate, develop, implement, and manage a consistent pipeline of high-impact student communications to promote enrollment, persistence, completion and overall engagement with ACC's student culture. Under the direction of the Office of Student Affairs Communication, this position serves as the lead project and communication outreach coordinator who works in a cross-functional capacity with Academic Affairs, the Office of College Marketing, College Operations, Human Resources, and Business Services to foster effective, consistent, and timely communications relevant to ACC faculty, staff, and students in support of the college's mission to reach and engage with its culturally diverse students.
Description of Duties and Tasks

Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Advanced knowledge of strategic communication principles and current best practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student communication practice including planning and execution.
- Thorough knowledge of technical writing and editing for print and web.
- Advanced knowledge of editorial style guides and plain language principles.
- Familiarity with online communications and client tools including web content management systems, broadcast email marketing tools, and social networking.
- Expertise in use of English grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
- The ability to present the college in a positive way to diverse, multicultural communities.
- Demonstrated knowledge working with groups from underrepresented backgrounds.

- Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

- Intermediate to expert use of a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
- Intermediate to advanced use of Wordpress or similar web content management systems.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and texting platforms.
- Two years related work experience.
Preferred Work Experience
- Five or more years of communications experience in higher education.
- Experience with strategic communication planning, CRM systems, and texting platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in a marketing or communication related field.
- Master's degree.
Licenses/Certifications; Other
- Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation needed for local Austin area travel.
Other Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with popular content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, etc.).
- Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
- Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
Full-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.
ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
