Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | Reporting to the Assistant Director of Smith Programs & Events, the Coordinator supports the department in producing high-quality events, meetings, and conferences that engage internal and external communities and showcase the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business’ intellectual capital. The coordinator works, in a fast-paced environment, to execute event goals and detailed plans ensuring outstanding results for multiple events and programs simultaneously. Superior organization, communication and technological skills are critical, as is a desire to learn, grow, and strive for improvement in every area of work being done. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and a creative problem solver. The coordinator must possess strong customer service values with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. The ability to organize data and manage information is critical to success. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as program delivery requires. |

Physical Demands | In addition to traditional office work, the incumbent will need to be able to lift up to 25 lbs., have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a state vehicle and walk and stand for long periods of time, in order to meet the needs of the event and program initiatives of the Smith School. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as program delivery requires. |
