Job Description

PROGRAM AND EVENTS COORDINATOR, Sloan School of Management-MBA Program Office, to play a key role in building a strong student community for a top-tier global MBA program. Will work under minimal supervision and support the execution of major events, provide administrative support, and work on a wide range of projects and special initiatives to ensure the success of the program as part of the MBA team. Will identify and implement program and community events geared towards student experience for MBA and Master of Science in Management Studies (MSMS) students. Given the size and complex nature of some of these programs and events it will be critical to work closely with people at all levels across MIT and Sloan to consistently produce high quality events and programs for a myriad of stakeholders and to ensure operational excellence for the MBA and MSMS programs. Key responsibilities include organizing and executing various community building programs and events for the MBA population of 800+; managing all communications for the office, including developing and implementing a communication strategy for two weekly newsletters, summer communications, and general email and Slack inquiries; and handling all financial matters.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least two years of event management and or program management experience; interest in events and student engagement; self-direction and ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and persuasive communication skills. Must be available to work in person for a regular hybrid schedule of three days of the week on campus and be able to work occasional nights and weekends for signature events.
