Coordinator supports immediate supervisor by direct supervision of diverse trades, assigning work tasks, inspecting work, maintaining hours worked, monitoring work of vendors and interacting with campus community to advance the mission of the Facilities Management Department at Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC).

  • Monitors the daily and monthly attendance records for all employees in the Units. Reviews and verifies timecards prior to submission. Monitors administrative leave as to reporting on appropriate forms and authorizes overtime as per the guidelines of the department.
  • In coordination with immediate supervisor, interprets work requests for feasibility, compliance with restrictions imposed by regulatory and statutory directives, organizational or environmental impact, and impact on the planned operation and maintenance of the University.
  • Determines if approved work order requests require design work or will present engineering problems. Discusses such requests with his immediate supervisor top ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Assists and advises immediate supervisor in the development of work projects for Units. In conversation with immediate supervisor, initiates and supervises own projects for vendors.
  • Reviews preparation of manpower and material estimates and material requirement lists for individual job orders. Works with Purchasing Manager and BBC warehouse to order materials for Units.
  • Conducts or assigns to subordinates job completion inspections for work by Unit personnel.
  • During emergencies may be directed to perform other duties and tasks related to the operations/requirements of the University as required by the Director of Facilities Management and/or University administrators.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Supervises the maintenance of statistical records and/or visual devices reflecting the current status of facilities engineering work programs, including distribution of work forces, status of individual jobs, operations activities and backlog of work in terms of man hours.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field and three (3) years of relevant experience; OR seven (7) years of relevant experience ; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and/or vocational/technical training.
