Job Summary


The Coordinator, Outreach Programs oversees outreach efforts for The Department of Outreach Programs. This position collaborates with the various campus partners and community leaders in support of strategic projects, and develops and implements a range of events, programs, and services that support the goals and objectives of the department.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to develop, plan and implement community outreach events, education and engagement programs and activities.
  • Creates and manages education and outreach programs, materials, platforms, and campaigns that support the strategy and objectives of the department.
  • Develops and maintains the department’s website, social media presence, and publications including newsletters and public service announcements.
  • Develops and maintains professional working relationships with community leaders and decision makers.
  • Coordinates visits to and from regional schools to recruit students through presentations, career fairs, and other campus events.
  • Creates and implements evaluations, assessment, and academic program strategic goals to assess and report growth and effectiveness of the academic programs to supervisor and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collects and analyzes research data, including surveys, stakeholder interviews and focus groups.
  •  Maintains an inventory of books, materials and other educational items to support the programs. Researches and recommends additional purchase items as needed.
  • May recruit, hire, train, or supervise, and evaluate OPS and part-time student employees. Maintains work schedules, timesheets, and payroll action forms.
  • Collects and analyzes data on activities and events to assess and report on program participation and effectiveness. Prepares monthly reports with collected data.

Other Duties:

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Serves on department as well as cross-campus committees for special event planning and programming.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).

Pay Grade: 15

Applications received prior to April 5th, 2024 will receive priority consideration.

This is a grant funded position with anticipated refunding. Although renewal of grant is expected, position is contingent upon renewal of grant.
