ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Housing and Residential Education has capacity to house 1,000 residential students on the USF St. Petersburg campus in three residential facilities and intentionally creates a residential learning environment where residential students can be successful at the university and in the community.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Coordinator of Residential Education (CRE) leads a residential community on the St. Petersburg campus.  CREs are responsible for components of residential education, advising student organizations, crisis management, on call response, and day to day operations of the residential community. CREs significantly contribute to the department mission of creating inclusive living and learning environments where residents thrive academically, socially, and personally as members of the USF St. Petersburg campus community. 
Components of residential education area include facilitating the residential curriculum, coordination of activities, student staff training and development, student staff training, serving as the Advisor for RHA, coordinating LLCs and/or Residential Community Programs (RCPs), and one on one and group student success retention initiatives within the residential community of approximately 1,000 residential students on the St. Petersburg campus.
This is a full-time, 12-month live-in position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership of student staff
- Select, train, supervise, and evaluate Graduate Hall Directors, Resident Assistant and Student Assistant Staff
- Facilitate weekly staff meetings, disseminate information 
- Conduct quality individual one-on-one meetings coaching and developing staff
- Coordinate ongoing training and development of student staff team
Coordinate Residential Education Initiatives for designated residential community
- Implement residential curriculum
- Achieve student learning outcomes in the residential community related to strategies for personal management, multicultural competence, identification of resources and development of techniques to achieve personal wellness that support academic success, effective communication and conflict management, creation of post-graduation plans and goals.
- Coordinate Academic Initiatives that aid in residential student academic success
- Coordinate LLCs and RCPs
- Create and implement Student Success programmatic initiatives
- Facilitate Care Management for individual students
- Conduct assessment of initiatives
- Create various reports
Housing Operations and Department Administrative Duties
- Assist with resident assignments, room changes and room consolidation processes, manage roommate agreement process
- Perform damage assessments, assess student billing, health and safety room inspections
- Utilize housing database, RMS/Mercury
- Work all check-ins, and check-outs
- Monitor physical condition of residence halls, Room Condition Inventory Forms, follow up on work orders submitted, provide regular reports and updates
- Work collaboratively with Facilities and Custodial staff
- Assist with HRE office support, assist with front desk supervision, department emails and phones as needed
- Participate in department marketing initiatives, calling campaigns, and assist with HRE social media accounts
Advising
- Serve as Advisor or Co-Advisor to Hall Council, RHA, and/or NRHH
- Attend organizational meeting
- Support on-going leadership development of the students
- Supporting program initiatives and possible conference attendance
Participate in residence hall on-call duty rotation
- Respond to after hours, weekend and holiday incidents
- Serve as essential personnel
- Serve on department hurricane response and evacuation team
Serve as a student conduct hearing officer
- Educate residents about University and HRE policies, University Student Code of Conduct, regulations, rights and responsibilities and promote student accountability.
- Other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or student personnel position; or a Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor degree requirement for this position.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Depending upon the nature of the assignment, this position may require substantial work in outdoor environments, and/or regular attendance and participation in meetings during evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration or related field from an accredited university/college. Previous experience with a residential curriculum. Knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion and an ability to work with a wide variety of people while recognizing the needs of underrepresented groups.
