The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as “The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Coordinator of Olympic Sport Operations for The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is under the direct supervision of the head coach(es) of the sports assigned.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
• Assists in the coordination and administration of the assigned intercollegiate Olympic sport programs, with priority given to the in-season team(s) and respect to workload.
• Works in connection with travel coordinator to book travel and hotel arrangements, including planning and arranging all meals, per diem card requests/distribution, itinerary creation and distribution for each trip as well as game day schedules for team travel.
• Collaborates with Rutgers facilities staff for all game arrangements, including coordinating practice and game times with opponent institutions, facility/field preparation and any practices or other program events that may be planned for the field.
• Acts as the proxy for the coaches and will be responsible for submitting and reconciling all credit card transactions and travel expense reimbursements.
• Works in collaboration with marketing office regarding all promotional activities, including special events, fundraising events, and various game day promotions related to the sports assigned
• Assists with underclass recruiting; oversees and coordinates visits, clinics, correspondence, etc based on availability.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations relative to rules in administration and recruiting areas.
• Strong organizational skills and computer literate.
• Ability to communicate with student athletes, athletic administrative staff and parents of prospective recruits.
• Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position.

• Ability to perform duties with the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior and in accordance with University, Departmental, Big Ten or other affiliated Conference and NCAA regulations, policies and procedures.
