PURPOSE

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, a Division I institution and member of the Southland Conference, seeks a highly motivated individual with strong video creation skills for the full-time position of Coordinator of Graphic Design.

While working at The Island University, which offers more than 250 days of sunshine in a city that is one of three sunniest, non-desert locations in the United States, the position will create engaging and storytelling graphics to be used in social media posts, internal departmental and campus-wide communication channels, promo item design, in-game videoboard displays and more.  These graphics will support the brand, communications, and marketing functions of the department of athletics.

RESPONISIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary graphic designer for the Islanders Athletics Department with primary focus on supporting the creative needs of marketing, ticketing, sponsorship, development, and communications.

  • Create graphics to highlight, recap, and promote various sports, endeavors, and events.

  • Produce creative content for social media, recruiting, ticket sales and in-game promotions.

  • Create still graphics for videoboard content to be used at home venues.

  • Organize and manage multiple design projects in various stages.

  • Create images, graphic elements, illustrations, and other visual content using a variety of graphic software, including Adobe Creative Suite

  • Design promotional materials for both print & digital platforms for all athletics departments and teams.

  • Collaborate with other members of marketing and communications teams to support them in achieving their objectives.

  • Work with outside graphic and print vendors when necessary.

  • Assist with all aspects of marketing and in-game promotions on game days.

  • Assist with photography.

  • Maintain photo archives for the department.

  • Other duties as requested by the external operations department.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite - specifically Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects

  • Demonstrated ability to produce promotional copy and content for social media platforms.

  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think strategically and problem-solve independently.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends.

  • Self-motivated while also being team oriented.
