Description
The Office of Global Affairs at the University of New England (UNE), which oversees UNE’s global educational and cultural activities, is seeking a Coordinator for its growing and dynamic Global Education team. Supervision is received from the Senior Director of Global Affairs.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on University-wide global initiatives.
  • Increase participation in study abroad on UNE semester abroad programs and travel courses, with a particular focus on enrollment and programming at the Tangier Campus.
  • Advise students on study abroad and other international opportunities. Meet with students in-person in scheduled appointments or as walk-ins.
  • Support prospective and enrolled study abroad students, including issues related to student health, safety, and crisis management.
  • Assist in all study abroad recruitment efforts including Admissions events, the development/updating of website and print promotional and informational materials.
  • Create, plan, and execute promotional activities for study abroad programs such as on-campus events, workshops, and classroom visits.
  • Create, plan, and execute pre-departure orientations and workshops for students.
  • Liaise with Living Learning Communities, First-Year Experience Program Coordinator, and Resident Advisers (RAs) on programming.
  • Manage student applications, forms, and enrollment in online system (Terra Dotta).
  • Day-to-day management of the Global Education Program office and its programs, including answering the phone, assisting student walk-ins, and replying to emails.
  • Day-to-day management of the Global desk in the Commons.
  • Supervise and mentor student work-study employees (Peer Advisers).
  • Review Global Education Scholarship applications.
  • Manage Global Education Program social media accounts and external listing sites.
  • Provide support to international students at the undergraduate and graduate level, including exchange students in their transition to UNE and throughout the program.
  • Manage the Global Education program office when the Assistant Director is away.
  • Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of related experience with increasing responsibility in planning, organizing, and evaluating study abroad programs, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Significant living or travel experience abroad and a passion for global education.
  • Strong written, oral communication and oral presentation skills. High degree of comfort in public speaking required.
  • Experience developing and deploying marketing and recruitment strategies related to international education, including demonstrated experience with social media.
  • Ability to learn F-1 advising basics or previous experience advising international students desirable.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and an unwavering can-do attitude.
  • Proficiency in French, Arabic or Spanish desirable, but not required.
  • Experience with Terra Dotta software desirable.
  • Work on some evenings and weekends required.
  • Occasional regional, national, and international travel is also required.
