Expands and increases WBGU’s educational services and community engagement by:

Coordinating and facilitating education and outreach programs and events that improve educational standards, instructional strategies, and educational environments in Northwest Ohio and beyond.

Developing and presenting professional development in-services and community engagement activities.

Maintaining collaborative partnerships in the community and university to increase the success and positive impact of educational outreach programs.

 



  • Creates and facilitates education and outreach presentations and events for educators, families, and community groups using excellent written and oral skills
  • Works with the Director of Education and Outreach to plan and manage education and outreach projects, including grant and data management, weekly.
  • Assists the Director of Education and Outreach in maintaining strategic partnerships at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Supervises student-educational outreach assistants to meet education and outreach goals.
  • Assists in maintaining an active presence for educational services and outreach on WBGU’s digital platforms, including, websites, social media, and electronic newsletters.
  • Supports clients by addressing their needs, answering inquiries about professional development, children’s programming, and education and outreach projects.
  • Attends professional development to stay informed about PBS education and outreach initiatives, current education trends and community needs.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, human development & family studies, human ecology or related field is required.  Degree must be conferred at the time of application.  Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the University’s vehicle use policy.

 

The following experience is required:

  • 2 - 3 years of experience either as an educator of children ages birth to age 8 or as a provider of adult instruction related to early childhood education or early childhood development. 

 

Salary

Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level 354. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.



Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

  • The ability to coordinate educational outreach projects that focus on improving educational standards, curriculum, assessment, instructional strategies, and the educational environment.
  • The knowledge to develop and present specialized, research-based workshops and materials in response to grant funded projects and for specialized groups relating to early childhood, child development, literacy education, parenting, elementary education, PBS programming and other education topics as assigned.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with adult learners.
