Definition of Class

This position organizes, leads, and directs the activities of the Rebelette dance team or cheer team. The incumbent supervises, trains, and coordinates student spirit groups, implements and executes game day activities, oversees recruiting efforts, and manages departmental expenditures. 


Examples of Work Performed
  • Organizes, leads, and directs the activities of the Rebelette dance team or cheer team for designated athletic events.
  • Coordinates a safe practice and training environment that highlights the performance and safety goals of the program.
  • Updates manuals detailing recruitment strategies, try-out criteria and other policies and procedures and monitors and enforces NCAA, SEC, and University guidelines.
  • Coordinates, reviews, and monitors training and strength and conditioning techniques with Strength and Conditioning and Athletic Training staff members.
  • Manages and performs administrative tasks as they relate to athletic spirit events.
  • Monitors expenditures and prepares reports relating to the financial aspects of the Rebelettes or cheer team.
  • Collaborates with Athletics Marketing to design promotional items to recruit high school and community college future prospects.
  • Monitors academic performance by working closely with Student Athletic Services staff.
  • Oversees recruiting efforts by marketing, executing, and evaluating camps and clinics.
  • Makes determinations regarding recruiting selection and scholarship offers.
  • Develops and implements scripts for the Rebelettes or cheer team, for University and public performances, to enhance student participation, enthusiasm, and positive crowd involvement.
  • Implements and executes game day activities and responsibilities.
  • Manages seasonal program calendar and coordinates team travel efforts
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Serves as a liaison for athletic groups and other campus areas.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

  • Organizes, leads, and directs activities of the Rebelette dance team or cheer team.
  • Implements and executes game day activities.
  • Determines recruiting selection and scholarship allocation.
  • Monitors and enforces NCAA, SEC, and University guidelines and updates departmental manuals.

  • Minimum Education/Experience

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

    AND

    Experience: One (1) year of experience related to the above described duties.

    Substitution Statement:

    Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
