Position Announcement

The College of Health and Public Service is seeking a part-time Marketing Coordinator to help promote our programs. The Coordinator – Marketing and Communications position assists the Marketing/Communications Manager, department chairs, and the CHPS dean's office with coordinating marketing requests and initiatives across the range of departments and programs in the college. Develops a wide array of publicity, promotional, communication, and marketing materials, utilizing a variety of print and graphic design. Generates, promotes, and manages social media channels and content, keeping current with accomplishments, projects, and events within the college and its programs. Assists the marketing team with college website development and project management, including integrating marketing efforts across campus. Delivers content that uniquely and creatively engages students, faculty, staff, and other target audiences for event attendance and participation at CHPS events and activities. 


Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develops, promotes, and manages social media channels and content, staying up-to-date with the latest marketing trends and innovations.
  • Produces publicity, promotional, communication, and CHPS marketing materials, utilizing a variety of print and graphic design (including Canva).
  • Assists with the creation of program and department websites. Develops unique content for specific college events.
  • Manages marketing projects within the college (as assigned).
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree/Experience specifically in Marketing/Communications


Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience with Canva.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including basic spreadsheet functions.
  • Knowledge of best social media practices and platforms.
  • Knowledge of basic design principles, including balance, color, rhythm, contrast, etc.
  • Knowledge of current marketing trends and strategies.
  • Knowledge of social media marketing.
Skills:
  • Skills in maintaining and organizing records and information.
  • Skills in coordinating promotional events and activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Abilities:

  • Ability to manipulate templates, update documents, etc.

  • Ability to research and analyze data in support of communications needs.

  • Ability to collaborate on marketing projects across campus.

  • Ability to work effectively within a wide range of constituencies.

  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision, as well as within a team environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects despite conflicting demands.

  • Creative mindset with the ability to bring fresh and current ideas for marketing.

  • On occasion, the ability to have a variable and flexible schedule to be able to cover events when necessary.
