Position Description

Graduate Programs office in the College of Business, seeking a Coordinator - Graduate Internships, this individual will play a primary role in coordinating efforts related to the graduate internship unit, working directly with graduate students to prepare them to apply for graduate internship opportunities with outside employers, and to assist outside employers in identifying qualified graduate students for short- and long-term internship roles.  The Coordinator- Graduate Internships will also be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with outside employers to continuously maintain a robust pipeline of corporate partners and in-flow of graduate internship opportunities. 

As a member of the Graduate Team, this position provides direct leadership and is responsible for the outcomes of the following areas:

  • Prepare internship-track students for graduate internship opportunities through a variety of professional development assessments and exercises, including resume reviews, interview preparation, and professionalism coaching
  • Educate all admitted students on the benefits and requirements of participating in the graduate internship program through various information sessions and providing materials for program microsites, etc.
  • Work directly with Corporate Outreach Coordinator to cultivate corporate leads specifically for the purpose of generating graduate internship opportunities.
  • Work directly with peer graduate internship coordinator to collaborate across graduate programs all members of the Graduate Internship team to create and maintain sustainable business processes for a highly-function team
  • Work directly with existing corporate contacts in an account management capacity to continue nurturing and facilitating hiring of graduate interns by 1) advising on job descriptions, 2) informing about compensation and availability guidelines, 3) advising on requirements, rules, regulations, and compliance parameters
  • Work directly with internship employers to arrange and facilitate any interviewing needs.
  • Coordinate all documentation and materials for distribution to students and employers regarding participation in the graduate internship program, to include ongoing updates, collect required signature documents, creation of customized resume books, posting to internship-related requirements to various sites, and all materials needed to work with students and employers.
  • Log all corporate related information in shared corporate connections database for effective customer relationship management.
  • Provide data for weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting about activities, company engagement, goals, and metrics.
  • Participate in a variety of College, University, corporate, professional, and civic events that may take place during regular office hours, early morning hours, evening hours, or weekends.
  • Work collaboratively across College of Business and the University channels.
