Position Overview
The University of North Texas System invites applications for the PART-TIME position of Coordinator, Engagement and Rentention (one-year appointment of 8 hours per week; with additional years dependent upon funding).
The Coordinator will support special projects to recruit, increase retention, and provide wraparound services for specialized programs addressing career and educational preparation
needs for a diverse workforce.The incumbent will serve as the campus sponsor for THRIVE Call Me MiSTER a program designed to get diverse males to enter the teaching profession.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Texas/National Teacher Certification (no probationary or intern certificates) 
  • At least 2 years of successful, certificated K-12 teaching experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience using a variety of on-line platforms and digital platforms to track work, communicate with others, promote recruitment and engagement, and pull data reports including, but not limited to MS Teams, Google Services, Google Classroom, Zoom, Qualtrics, Dynamic Forms, Apple Classroom, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Teams and data to set goals and perform employment responsibilities
  • Formal or informal training in developing community relationships and engaging clients in program services 
  • Manage and expand program partnerships. 
  • A mature awareness of how social and cultural identities influence interpersonal situations and a demonstrated commitment to utilizing one’s position to further equity in teams and for young people. A past record of results leading strategic initiatives that include spearheading 
  • Strong self-manager who can develop and execute work plans towards ambitious goals, independently adjusting course as needed to deliver results
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse populations at varying levels verbally and in writing. 
  •  Excellent oral and written communications capabilities. 
  • Strong presentation skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and with others. 
  • Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records and generate reports.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications"
- Master’s Degree in Education
- Doctoral Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership or related field PREFERRED
- Valid Texas Principal and/or Superintendent Certification (no probationary or intern certificates).
- Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English for verbal and oral communications.
- Experience in three or more years as a principal or K12 academic, instructional, or central office leader.
- Experience teaching in higher education settings for three or more years.
-Experience conducting and/or coordinating review sessions for the Texas Examination for Educator Standards for UNTD educator candidates and graduates

Job Duties


o
Create and manage systems to disperse program information across a broad set of partners including local school districts, community college systems, early college high school programs, community-based organizations, neighborhoods, and families.
o
Set and track long and short-term recruitment goals, mentor, and oversee UNTD THRIVE diverse male teacher candidates and initiatives and specialized populations in partnership with area independent school districts (ISDs).
o
Coordinate the THRIVE Call Me Mister® Program and deliver the curriculum in partnership with local ISDs as well as mentor the MISTERs®.
o
Amplify awareness of UNT Dallas’s and Early College High School teacher education pathways with different internal and external stakeholders.
o
Utilize quantitative and qualitative data, best-practices, and knowledge of the education profession to set strategy for recruitment and enrollment of diverse candidates to enter and persist in the educational field.
o
Apply for sponsored research and foundation grants. For grants managed, provide data and complete reports for grantors.
o
Grow and strengthen inter and intra-organizational partnerships that lead to sustainable and effective future educator pipelines for UNT Dallas School of Education and Liberal Arts and Sciences and manage and actualize recruitment and marketing goals related to K12 educator initiatives.
