Job Summary

The Education Programs Coordinator applies acquired skills, processes, and policy knowledge to support professional health education program learners.

The incumbent coordinates program operations, which include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the education programs. This requires excellent judgment and the ability to make quick yet judicious decisions affecting trainees and faculty on a regular basis. 

The activities/programs for which the position is responsible move at a very fast pace and administrative decisions for the programs are required on the spot. This position takes day to day direction from multiple sources and flexibility is paramount for success in this position.

Department Description

UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine.  The department provides service for UCSF’s seven integrated facilities:   Moffitt/Long Hospital, Zuckerberg San Francisco General, Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, Mt. Zion Medical Center, Mission Bay Hospital, China Basin Imaging Center, and UCSF Women’s Health at Montgomery Street.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Understands International Students Service Office (ISSO) and visa processing
  • Thorough knowledge of UC Payroll processing and benefits consultation
  • Understands ACGME Web ADS, American Board of Radiology (ABR) Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS), and National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
  • Understands Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements for institutional core and program requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program. Skills include statistical analysis of data across databases and systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of educational software and platforms. Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance the user experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Strong problem solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communications skills; includes active listening and critical thinking.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems. Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications in a program.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Solid knowledge of health professions education program requirements. Thorough knowledge of health professions education industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related area preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
