Coordinator, Center for Clinical Trials and Corporate Contracts - (240000H2)

University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seeking a Corporate Contracts Coordinator (Contracts and Grants Coordinator) for Department of Research and Development - Center for Clinical Trials. The Coordinator will take initiative in ensuring document management and flow, responding to information requests, and participating in the business processes required to support corporate sponsored research at University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). This position is expected to function as a team member and contribute towards meeting Center-specified goals and objectives. Tasks are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications as defined by senior management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinates work plan in accordance with specifications and general guidelines to maintain and optimize document flow and work processes; determine daily and weekly priorities in consultation with senior management.

  • With training, reviews standard contracts for consistency in terms of universally-accepted content and language.

  • Assists faculty, staff and sponsors with general inquiries; provides administrative support to the program leadership team.

  • Uses databases, software programs, and reporting tools; under guidance, creates graphs, charts, spreadsheets and other reports to support management reviews and decisions. Develop website content, training and promotional tools and other information resources for the Center.

  • Works with team to prepare program metrics including budget and performance data for management or outside agencies.

  • Interacts and maintains liaison with faculty, staff and outside/community agencies. Serves as a primary contact for specific incoming information.

  • Thinks critically about all aspects of the program to contribute to resolving questions and decisions related to improving the efficiency and standardization of the program.

  • Performs other administrative duties having a significant impact on the overall goals of program.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field. BS in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or other life-science field highly preferred.

Experience: One year of administrative, program and/or lab work experience.

Other: Financial disclosure reporting required by State of Maryland Ethics Commission.

Previous technical research experience in a laboratory/clinical setting is strongly preferred.

May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrate professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. Capable of interacting pleasantly and positively with others to meet customer expectations and provide follow up with customers.

Hiring Range: $56,000 - $62,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
