Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, the purpose of the job is to manage physical plant and maintenance operations for branch or satellite location, including scheduling and maintenance, custodial, safety, security, construction, and grounds maintenance. Plans and implements capital renewal and replacement budgets for the facility and develops and implements operating policies and procedures. Performs related work as directed.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's required; Master's may be required for some positions.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Five years general business or field specific experience, with three years in a College/function specific experience and three years of supervisory or lead experience required.  

Minimum Certifications/Licenses:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required or, as a condition of continued employment, a Valid Florida Driver’s License within 30 days after beginning employed by the College.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily -20%: Oversees all facets of the daily operations of the organizational unit, ensuring compliance with college, state, and federal laws, policies and regulations.
  • Daily -15%: Responsible for people management of the area, including recommendation of staffing, hiring, termination and discipline, setting performance standards and evaluating staff, staff development and training.
  • Daily -20%: Manages multi-craft activities involved in preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance, cleaning, repair, and renovation of buildings, mechanical systems, physical plant, and grounds.
  • Daily -5%: Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the department.
  • Annually -5%: Assists in facility and space usage planning; advises administration on the application of the institutional policy, regulations, and standards relating to the management of physical resources.
  • Weekly -10%: Performs quality control and preventive maintenance inspections to ensure adherence to facilities standards.
  • Daily-5%: Develops and maintains emergency/disaster preparedness and recovery plans.
  • Daily -5%: Ensures proper care in use and maintenance of equipment & supplies.
  • Daily -10%: Develops and manages or assists with development and management of annual operating budgets.
  • Other, as needed - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
