Summary

The Department of Pathology and Immunology is offering a highly motivated and competent professional the opportunity to serve as a Coordinator in a team-based clinical and academic office setting with primary responsibilities for providing administrative support to clinical faculty and the clinical operations. The administrative support to faculty includes credentialing, faculty onboarding documents, assisting reporting, and academic functions. The administrative support for clinical operations includes taking phone calls, routing of calls, information gathering and distribution, and assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of faculty. The position requires a person able to work well within a team environment and with a willingness to assist a team member when needed. 


Job Duties
  • Performs advanced administrative and coordination duties to support effective and efficient operations within the clinical office setting to achieve the Department’s mission and goals in its clinical, education, and research missions.
  • Provides administrative coordination to Faculty and Department, as outlined in the Coordinator Support Tiers document of the department, to include: 
    • Prepares initial and reappointment privileges applications to establish and maintain active hospital privileges for faculty and pathologists assistants.
    • Serves as administrative contact between department and hospital/surgery center medical staff offices.
    • Maintains confidential faculty electronic and hard-copy credentialing and administrative files.
    • Maintains copies of current physician licenses, CMEs, and liability insurance certificates; works directly with faculty to keep Texas Standardized Credentialing Applications and CVs up-to-date.
    • Serves as liaison with billing service for provider enrollment applications.
    • Determines work priorities and monitors progress toward work deadlines.
    • Assists Faculty and Staff with administrative issues and services as needed.
    • Assists manager and administrator in establishing and attaining goals and objectives.
    • Scans or copies and files documents as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years’ experience in Accounts Payable.
