Summary

The Section of General Internal Medicine is seeking a talented Coordinator, Business Operations to provide administrative support to section leadership including the Section Chief and Section Director. Additionally, this role will lead the administrative efforts to plan and execute section wide projects and events throughout the academic year. 

 

The Section of General Internal Medicine is the largest section within the Department of Medicine with approximately 300 faculty and staff who work across the Greater Houston Area.  

 

This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.


Job Duties
  • Provides administrative support to section leadership including calendar scheduling and maintenance, manages expense reimbursements, and prepares materials for meetings and events.
  • Prepares and processes requisitions and purchasing orders for section supplies. 
  • Inspects and troubleshoots shared department equipment.  Facilitate service calls as needed.
  • Provides additional support to faculty members as assigned by the Section Director.
  • Leads the administrative efforts to plan and execute section wide events including the annual retreat and academic conference.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains the section website.
     

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior administrative experience.
  • Ability to display a professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills required and must be able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate high degree of flexibility in accepting work assignments with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, understand processes, and resolve issues.
