Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Coordinator Athletic Facilities & Events to work in the Athletic Facilities & Operations unit. This is an entry-level full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.  

The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate the preparation and use of university athletic facilities for events while following University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations. This postiion requires evening and weekend hours.


Essential Functions
  • Serve as liaison to public safety, parking services, other campus departments, outside agencies, promoters and visiting teams for a variety of events held in athletic venues.
  • Assist with coordination of facility set-up and game-day operations, scheduling of the facilities for team and group usage and assist with set-up and tear down of physical facilities. 
  • Serves as the event manager for all assigned sports/events. Coordinate all efforts to ensure all parties are empowered to conduct their functions during events held in athletic venues. Troubleshoot and problem solve to reduce disruption. 
  • May supervise set-up of table, chairs, stages, platforms, lighting, etc., in athletic facilities. 
  • May coordinate vehicle rentals for athletic events and/or team transportation. Inspect equipment and facilities to assure proper use and maintenance.
  • May be required to drive a university vehicle and/or students.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Trainings/Certifications

Valid driver’s license


Required Experience

One (1) year related work experience.


Additional Qualifications Considered

The ideal candidate will have experience with technical aspects within athletic facilities including but not limited to scoreboard setup, audio/visual components, TV/streaming operations, and replay systems.
