Coordinator
Job Description
The Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research (STIR) seeks a qualified individual to coordinate research activities related to human trafficking to include database development and management, data collection, attending meetings with internal and external research partners, manage ASU students and interns and contribute to written products from ASU STIR. Work in partnership with community members to collect data, conduct outreach activities, analyze data, and write reports.

Essential Duties
This position will be responsible for informing the four participating agencies about the grant activities that include:
- Surveying attendees to task force meetings
- Data entry and analysis of the Wilder Survey
- Report writing about the Wilder Survey Assist with the maintenance of the SPSS database related to police related data (anonymous) collected off-site
- Assisting with data collection from off-site locations (Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV)
- Assisting with report writing Communicate with granting agencies and participating agencies
- Public speaking about human trafficking at community event
- This position may supervise, train, and evaluate student workers and interns
- Assisting with budget proposals and budget control systems for the four grants assigned to the position
- Maintaining active communication with the ASU STIR Director related to grant activities and deliverables
- Providing assistance and research information to other ASU STIR staff and students
- Developing and scheduling a program/event work plan in accordance with specifications, objectives and funding limitations
- May supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff
- Preparing budget proposals and recommendations and establishing budget control system for controlling expenditures; controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations; recommending equipment and resources for function/program
- Performing tasks related to specific function/program assigned, such as tracking event attendance, development of brochures or other unique projects
- Representing the college/department and serves on various department and university committees.
- Interacting and maintaining liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives
- Developing and facilitating workshops, meetings or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants; coordinating logistics, scheduling and participant communications
- Providing leadership training and organizational management opportunities through workshops and seminars to targeted groups
- Scheduling facility and services for use by campus and outside organizations
- Maintain direct contact with personnel of various outside organizations and university departments associated with scheduled function/program
- Representing the college/department and serving on various department and university committees
- Attending seminars, workshops and conferences
- Providing assistance and information to faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding function/program
- Serving as a representative to ensure all aspects of function/program are implemented and controlled according to plans
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues pertaining to area of assignment.
- A minimum of two years' experience working with victims of human trafficking for conducting research on human trafficking.
- Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
- Experience in budget preparation and forecasting.
- Experience in coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
