Job Summary | The Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah is dedicated to advancing health through excellence in patient care, research, and education. As part of our commitment to improving healthcare in underserved communities, we are seeking a Program Coordinator to assist the Rural & Underserved Utah Training Experience (RUUTE) & Regional Affairs program. The mission of the RUUTE and Regional Affairs program is to improve medical education and training, health care access, and long-term socio-economic benefits for rural and underserved communities of Utah and the Intermountain West by expanding interest, awareness, and placement of medical students and residents. The Retention, Recruitment, & Research Program Coordinator for the RUUTE & Regional Affairs program will play a pivotal role in the recruitment of highly qualified candidates for the RUUTE Scholars program who are closely aligned with the program’s mission. This position will involve the coordination of program logistics, and the expansion of RUUTE initiatives, such as undergraduate pipeline programming at undergraduate institutions in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Furthermore, the Coordinator is responsible for the development of educational resources, as well as building and nurturing relationships with educators in underserved areas. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Program Coordinator actively contributes to team-wide projects and amplifies the reach and impact of the RUUTE mission. Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
