Job Summary | The Department of Retail Services is hiring to fill One Seasonal Cook positionlocated within the UWM Residence Halls. Under direction of Associate Sous Chefs, these positions function as one of the Chefs for Sandburg Café or Cambridge Café. The incumbent will be responsible for the timely preparation of hot and cold food for sales throughout various dining locations and catered events for Retail Services. They will personally prepare and lead/train other employees in the preparation of hot and cold food according to established recipes. Incumbent will meet production schedules while following safe food handling practices. They will also recommend and prepare special items for catered events and tastings and recommend changes in menus and recipes as necessary. This position will be assigned schedules as necessary to cover the needs of the department and schedules may vary from week to week depending on the events scheduled. The break for seasonal employees will vary from year to year but generally runs from the end of December through mid January and the end of May through mid August. Dates and times are subject to change based on needs. Night and weekend availability is needed if there are special events and based on operational need. Position also requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time. |
