Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The incumbent is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of complex HVAC systems, mechanical systems, control systems, and alarm systems to support building and campus operations. This involves use of all types of electronic/mechanical test equipment, creative troubleshooting techniques and methods, personal computers, and programming software.


Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a two-year approved institution course as a Control Technician Trainee, OR four years of applicable experience in installation, repair, AND maintenance of electrical AND pneumatic control systems. Vocational OR trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years.

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience balancing all types of air and water systems.

  • HVAC/Refrigeration certification.

  • EL6A or higher classification electrical license.

Monthly Salary: Range 47G, Effective July 1, 2022, the salary range will be $4,425 - $5,013 –Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
