Job Description:

Under the direction of the Manager, Contracts and Grants, assist faculty, researchers, and administrative staff with activities related to post award research administration for the College of Medicine (COM).

Other job duties will include:

  • Prepare financial reports for contracts and grants. Analyze spending patterns to assist investigators with forecasts, budgets, and payroll projections.
  • Work closely with Procurement team to provide current account balances, end dates, and ensure purchases are allowable and in compliance.
  • Guide and assist PIs with project closeouts, which requires tracking of last expenditures, movement of personnel and appropriateness of expenditures to ensure compliance at time of closure.
  • Review project end dates to assure charges are accurately recorded. Prepare backup documentation for journal transfers and salary cost transfers as needed. Submit requests to COM Finance and Accounting for processing.
  • Work with research award managers to request budget modifications and extensions for continuity of operations.
  • Compliance/Effort Coordinator responsible for processing effort certification for all COM researchers, which includes assisting PI's in appropriately reporting effort expended on projects, match, OH, Balance and other accounts.
  • Perform cost transfers when needed to match reported effort, when necessary.
  • Coordinate college's Office of Research internal award program.
  • Other duties as assigned to accomplish the overall mission of the College to include but not limited to required trainings by the University and College of Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with post award research administration preferred.
