Job Summary
The Partners for Innovation, Ventures, Outreach & Technology (PIVOT Center) leads the University of Utah’s centralized and integrated strategy and operation for technology commercialization, corporate engagement, and economic development. In doing so, PIVOT serves as a hub for the U to foster partnerships between industry, university, and government entities. 
This position provides direct administrative support to the Opportunity Management Team.
Responsibilities
  • Manage electronic and wet signature process.
  • Ensure timely distribution, execution, logging, and retrieval of all contracts, assignments, declarations, and Powers of Attorney.
  • Manage PIVOT Center legal email inbox. Screen incoming email, save correspondence and/or flag for further action by Intellectual Property Team.
  • Receive and file incoming physical mail, original patent certificates of correction.
  • Maintain Intellectual Property objects in Salesforce, which includes electronic filing receipts, application disclosure statements, publications, and office actions.
  • Coordinate, provide, and document inventor notification – publications, grants, etc.
  • Retrieve, file, and provide Invention Disclosure References.
  • May develop departmental procedures as needed.

  • Minimum Qualifications
    A Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year of experience or equivalency required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
