Summary of Job Duties:

Summary Of Job Duties
The Contract Specialist will assist the contract management team in gathering and processing information and getting information used to assemble contracts or agreements. This position also obtains limited vendor quotations, identifies and recommends products available through existing state procurement contracts. Verifies the delivery of products or services according to specifications and terms of contract. This position also verifies proper documentation to process contracts and agreements and Initiates documents to amend agreements. Assists staff with preparing for Request for Proposals by gathering and organizing documents. The Contract Specialist gathers information to help prepare draft contracts or agreements and maintains electronic databases and files. This position has regular telephone, written, electronic and personal contact with vendors.
Other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Experience preparing contracts, writing specifications, and evaluating products and services

  • At least one year of experience working in a fiscal, contract, vendor or procurement environment

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

  • Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday

  • Experience with state procurement laws and policies

  • Experience preparing contract documents and managing approval procedures

  • Experience working in higher education

  • Experience working in and fostering a diverse, multi-cultural environment

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and database management

  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical and business-related documents

  • Ability to apply policies and procedures and other applicable regulations associated with assigned department or program

  • Ability to conduct research, perform quantitative quality assurance reviews, and prepare reports

Salary Information:


$55,000-60,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience
