Duties:
- Directs administrative functions including operational, financial, and staffing.
- Responsible for developing and monitoring budgets and educational programming.
- Ensures program meets goals.
- Responsible for strategic planning, establishing both specific and long-range program goals and plans for program expansion and sustainability.
- Supervises and provides guidance to professional and clerical staff.
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplining, delegating, monitoring, and terminating.
- Recommends salary adjustments based on equity and performance.
- Develops strategic partnerships to further the programs mission, create awareness of the program, and create buy in.
- Responsible for marketing activities to include program branding, website development, the use of social media, and all advertising for the program.
- Financial responsibilities include, budgeting, financial planning of the program(s), monitoring each programs progress, and approval of expenditures.
- Assists in the development of procedures and goals to ensure optimal operating performance.
- Develops, recommends, and implements administrative and fiscal policies in compliance with the University, NIH, federal and state guidelines.
- Maintains a policy and procedure manual.
- Responsible for writing and submitting grants, developing budgets and overseeing the funded programs.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, or closely-related field AND:
- 108 months experience in business management, administration, accounting, finance, operations management or closely related area. 24 months of the required experience must be directly related to coordinating/managing sponsored grants or contracts.
Skills:
- Advanced working knowledge of databases and electronic tools related to funding opportunity dissemination (e.g. Community of Science).
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Knowledge of pre-award grant submission process and federal application requirements.
- Advanced organization skills.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform multitasks and handle stressful situations.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Physical: Must be able to work in sitting position, use computer and answer telephone.
- Environmental: Office Work Environment. Stressful environment when meeting deadlines.
Supervision: Direct supervision: Senior Research Epidemiologist and 5 GRAs Ad-hoc supervision when staff are assigned RDAC projects: Biostatisticians (3); Senior Research Epidemiologist; GRAs (~20)
