The UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS), housed in the School of Public Health, has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Continuing Education Specialist to join a team of instructors, staff, and faculty providing professional continuing education courses throughout the Pacific Northwest. DEOHS Continuing Education Programs (CEP) reflect the DEOHS commitment to serving the ongoing and evolving educational needs of occupational health and safety practitioners, businesses and workers. DEOHS CEP delivers high-quality professional development courses, builds partnerships and engages regional communities to promote safe workplaces and sustainable environments. DEOHS CEP offers a variety of in-person and online courses that cover emerging occupational health issues, OSHA standards-based training, and on-site company specific learning.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Continuing Education Specialist is a senior level position that provides support to the Pacific Northwest OSHA Education Center (PNWOEC) within DEOHS CEP. The position will work under limited supervision and will report to the PNWOEC Director. The primary duties of this position are (1) to serve as a qualified OSHA instructor in the preparation, delivery, and administration of continuing education courses for occupational safety and health professionals, and (2) to provide subject matter expertise in the development and revision of training materials. This position will perform work requiring knowledge and experience specific to CEP planning, marketing, delivery, maintenance, and evaluation.
