Content Strategist

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Content Strategist in the Division of University Marketing and Communication.
Reporting to the Director of University Communication, the Content Strategist will be responsible for helping to shape and execute the university’s overall content strategy and ensuring that it aligns with our brand identity and effectively engages our target audiences. This person will collaborate closely with various teams and campus partners to create and implement compelling content and campaigns across multiple platforms with consistency.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Write, edit, and optimize a wide range of original content types, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and consistency using Associated Press and university style requirements.
· Responsible for helping to shape the university’s overall marketing content strategy, ensuring creativity, alignment with brand identity guidelines, and effective engagement of target audiences.
· Collaborate closely with various teams to create and implement compelling marketing content across multiple platforms.
· Create and manage task lists and calendars to plan, schedule, and track content production and distribution across various channels, including websites, social media platforms, email newsletters, and print materials.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and marketing, communication, media, or writing experience are required. Marketing, communication, media, or writing experience in a higher education or agency setting is preferred. Experience developing and/or adhering to extensive brand guidelines, working with design teams, and using project management software are preferred.

Public Information Coordinator (BC20/61121977/FTE-S01000P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05 . Salary range is $37,860.00 (minimum) to $53,957.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and marketing, communication, media, or writing experience are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Marketing, communication, media, or writing experience in a higher education or agency setting. Experience developing and/or adhering to extensive brand guidelines. Experience working with design teams. Experience using project management software.
Licensure and/or Certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content to various platforms and audiences. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), SEO, and analytics tools. Ability to consult with internal and external partners to provide constructive feedback around multiple projects efficiently. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of higher education landscape and trends is a plus. Strong understanding of content marketing principles, digital storytelling, and audience segmentation.
