POSITION SUMMARY:
The responsibility of this position is to plan and execute events for the Judy Genshaft Honors College. This includes all event logistics, working with vendors and suppliers, and oversight of available budget throughout each event.
This work will occasionally require working evenings and weekends during events. Opportunities to work remotely when reasonably accommadable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and execution of events in the new Judy Genshaft Honors College building on the Tampa campus, including room reservations, parking, vendor quotes and invoices, registration/RSVP, venue preparation, rentals, catering, meals/lodging/transportation for guests, AV equipment, post-event teardown, and related matters.
Direct student assistants (AV/IT Techs, Honors Ambassadors) and custodial staff assigned to support special events as needed.
Monitor budget and project expenses for all events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in event planning and management, or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years.
PREFERRED:
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to create timelines and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders: leadership, vendors, faculty, professional staff, students, donors, etc.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
