LOCATION: Information Technology Services
STARTING HOURLY RATE: $19.14 + hourly, depending upon education and experience, GJ
POSITION PURPOSE: Maintain and support the users of computer hardware and software technologies; research and train on current and new technologies; assist students, faculty, staff and guests with the technology resources provided on campus; provide high-level tech support, direction and specialized training to staff; receive, configure, deploy, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the campus PCs, laptops, tablets and hardware; and other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-a wide variety of computer software, hardware and peripherals;
-LAN and wireless technologies;
-computer network protocols, topologies, and infrastructures;
-computer troubleshooting techniques.
-communicate information clearly and concisely both in oral and written form, expressing ideas in a manner that the user can understand, exercising tact, patience and professional demeanor;
-establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with faculty, staff, students and the public;
-analyze network operations and inefficiencies;
-recommend pro-active solutions to problems;
-provide work direction and expertise to others;
-identify potential source of system problems;
-diagnose and repair computer hardware and software issues;
-keep computer drivers, software applications, and BIOS up to date;
-evaluate new hardware and software and operate a variety of software applications;
-lift and carry heavy equipment (50 lbs);
-provide outstanding customer service.
COMMENTS: Some weekend, evening and holiday work may be required.
