Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science in the College of Science at Purdue University solicits applications for a staff Lecturer position. This position will be part of the Purdue CS Lecturer team, delivering CS courses to undergraduate students from a variety of majors.

The Department and University

The Department of Computer Science has nearly 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students.  Many students in other majors have interest or are required to take a programming language course to fulfill degree requirements.  Annually the department teaches over 5,000 such students.

Purdue University is Indiana’s land grant university, enrolling over 50,000 at its main West Lafayette campus.  The Department of Computer Science is housed in both the College of Science and the College of Engineering.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a computing field with experience in software development and teaching.  A master’s degree is preferred. Applicants should be committed to excellence in teaching, have the ability to teach programming courses in C and Python, have enthusiasm for teaching and interaction with students, have an interest in online development and delivery of courses, and have an interest in advising student team projects. The position is a non-faculty rank, staff teaching position, with continuing appointment.
