Position Description:

Dr. Warren J. Leonard, Lab of Molecular Immunology and the Immunology Center, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, NIH, Bethesda, MD is recruiting a computational postdoctoral researcher with expertise in epigenomics, biostatistics, and systems biology approaches. The lab focuses on molecular immunology and uses ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, etc. to analyze global gene expression patterns and genome-wide distribution of chromatin modifications and transcription factors (e.g., Li et al. Nature 490:543-6 (2012); Lin et al. Immunity 36:586-99 (2012); Kazemian et al. Mol Syst Biol. 11:826 (2015); Li et al., PNAS PMID: 29078395 (2017); Mo et al. Nature PMID: 34526724 (2021); Spolski et al. PMID:37922339 (2023).

Work is interactive, integrating bioinformatics with wet lab approaches to elucidate normal cellular signaling, development, and differentiation as well as the basis for pathological conditions and disease states, using human cells and animal models. We collaborate broadly both within NIH and with extramural and international investigators.

Requirements:

The candidate must have a Ph.D. and/or an M.D. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science or Statistics with knowledge of R or Matlab; Python or Perl; and ideally C or C++.
