University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Davis, California

Position Description:

Immediate NIH and DOD-funded Research Associate positions are available in the newly established Bhatnagar Laboratory at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. Bhatnagar laboratory has a broad interest in the identification of targetable epigenetic readers, writers, and erasers for which we use large-scale and focused loss-of-function shRNA and CRISPR/Cas9 genetic screens. We routinely use small molecule inhibitors, RNAi, immunotherapies, and nanoparticles to generate effective cancer therapies. For additional information about the project, contact directly Dr. Bhatnagar (

To support our current ongoing activities, we are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who will be responsible, as a member of the team, for implementing computational analyses, data management as well as providing computational and analysis support for a range of activities. Expertise will be applied to answer key biological questions exploring molecular abnormalities (genetic and epigenetic) which contribute to normal biological processes and pathogenesis of disease.

The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology is home to multiple nationally recognized investigators working on Microbial biology, Microbial Pathogenesis, Infectious diseases, HIV, Rett Syndrome and Cancer.

The candidate is expected to support and participate in integrative analyses of large datasets generated from clinical and functional genomics data from in-house experiments and/or available public repositories, by developing and applying computational pipelines mainly focused on next generation sequencing data and other large-scale datasets. For additional information about the project, contact Dr. Bhatnagar (
