Job Summary: 

Under general supervision, the Compensation Specialist is responsible for supporting, administration and maintenance of various compensation-related data management systems, programs, and processes. The specialist will coordinate and facilitate the implementation of UT Health San Antonio's compensation programs and initiatives.  Conducts research and analysis in different areas involving compensation, including but not limited to base pay administration, compensation statistics, job evaluations and analyses, market pricing, and survey submission.

 

Job Duties:

  • Coordinates the process for compensation requests, including logging all monthly requests, generating reports, tracking the progress of close-out of requests, and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Provides compensation analysis to complete compensation requests for individual contributor positions, including performing job evaluations, reviewing salary history, reviewing internal equity, and providing salary recommendations.
  • Support Human Resources staff and Managers in developing effective job descriptions that appropriately reflect job level and retirement program eligibility.
  • Ensures approved compensation requests are submitted to update payroll records and provide standardized communication to be provided to employees.
  • Creates and maintains job codes within approved standard operating procedures.
  • Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities for compensation policies, programs, and initiatives.
  • Develop and respond to Market Surveys to maintain survey ranges in established systems.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree is required.

Experience:

One (1) to Two (2) years of related experience is required.

Licenses and Certifications:

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), PHR, SHRM-CP is preferred.
