Reporting to the Group Leader for Compensation and Workforce Data Analysis within the Human Resources Division, the Compensation Analyst 2, will perform a wide range of compensation processes in creative ways. Specific tasks will include reviews of salary increases, act as an internal consultant counseling managers and HR field services regarding compensation, conducting analyses and market research; designing, implementing, and administrating compensation strategies; and communicating initiatives to educate managers and employees on compensation programs and processes. What You Need Minimum Job Requirements:
Compensation Analyses Wide-ranging experience in compensation practices providing a pay for performance methodology by analyses of jobs and salaries in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, pay for performance and legal compliance of the company's pay practices. Demonstrated experience researching information for compensation-related inquiries.
Programmatic Development Demonstrated knowledge of compensation program design and best-practices, including survey participation, supplemental pay programs, performance management programs, salary offers, and salary planning by collecting and analyzing data. Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and/or administrating new theories and methods related compensation practices.
Interpersonal Skills Demonstrated ability to build productive internal and external working relationships, including successfully collaborating and engaging with other customers/clients, employees, other HR professionals, and managers.
Compliance Working knowledge of FLSA, EEO, ADA, and other compliance requirements as they relate to compensation practices, including demonstrated experience applying these concepts to resolve moderate issues in creative and effective ways.
Compensation Systems Experience and HR information systems and/or relational databases supporting compensation (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Access, PeopleSoft, SQL, etc.) and web-based survey tool platforms used to perform market pricing analysis (e.g. Payscale/MarketPay, etc.).
Education and Years of Relevant Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job.
Desired Qualifications:
Government R&D Experience designing, implementing, and/or administering compensation programs for government, government contractors, and/or large research and development (R&D) organizations.
Certifications World at Work certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
Oracle Knowledge and experience working with Oracle systems, including Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) tools and reports.
Analytical Skills Knowledge of quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skill to interpret complex data to identify trends.
Microsoft Applications Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint software, Survey Management tools, and HRIS systems.

Location: This position will be part of the Laboratory’s Telework Pilot and may work from a remote/home location within a two-hour ground commute of the Laboratory. The Telework Pilot is in effect from Oct. 1, 2020 through Sept. 30, 2021, but may be shortened or extended at the manager’s discretion. Ability to report on-site is a must for this position. Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
