Summary

The Information Technology Services department is seeking applications for a part-time Rover This position delivers high-quality service and support across campus at the University of Michigan Dearborn. As front-line support for Campus Computer Labs and Classrooms, Rovers assist students, staff and faculty by maintaining the general functionality of technology.


Responsibilities*

Service desk Rovers perform maintenance on all lab and classroom technology, which includes, UPRINT Stations, Windows and Mac Lab computers, Projectors, Document Cameras, and Scanners.  Responsibilities include: 

  • Ensure the security and safety of lab computers.
  • Investigate open Incidents related to classroom and lab device malfunctions.
  • Document and report technical issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the A/V team on project related tasks. 
  • Replace toner cartridges, clear paper jams, and fill paper on UPRINT printers.
  • Check and organize lab supply inventory and request restocks.
  • Organize and clean computer labs and classroom equipment and furniture.

Required Qualifications*

University of Michigan Dearborn student in good standing, with hands-on experience with Windows, Apple, and print devices. Familiarity with hardware installations, good organizational skills, and excellent communication skills. Ability to work in both a high-performance team environment and independently without supervision.


Work Schedule

Standard shifts typically do not exceed 3 hours, with a weekly total ranging from 5 to 12 hours. Shift timings are set during normal operating hours (between 8 AM to 8 PM from Monday to Thursday, and 8 AM to 5 PM on Fridays). Your work schedule will be tailored to fit the gaps in your academic schedule.

May require working non-standard hours. Schedule subject to change. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required.
