ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Institute for School-Community Partnerships, Integrated Services, and Child Mental Health and Educational Policy (ISCP), which is part of the College of Education, envisions that all schools in the state of Florida and nationally will have the capacity to provide a safe, effective, and efficient environment to continuously improve the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students and to actively engage families and communities in education. The ISCP's nearly $23 million budget is derived from grants from federal, state, and private sources. It is the mission of the ISCP to implement and evaluate research-based and innovative practices in school and community settings. This is accomplished through (a) training, technical assistance, and support to key partners; (b) community-engaged research and program evaluation to inform key partners' decision making; (c) the development of research and evidence-based documents, tools, and resources to support implementation and evaluation activities; and (d) supporting the infrastructure and capacity of key partners to implement and evaluate federal and state educational policy.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Programs Coordinator facilitates the planning, development, and delivery of university assisted community school programs and support services with an approach that centers the assets and needs of the communities in which this grant-funded position serves. Responsibilities include identifying and connecting with university resources and community resources to meet the needs of the school district's students and families, increasing knowledge and skills about university assisted community schools, providing technical assistance to community schools, and supporting activities to meet grant deliverables and timelines. This position includes grant-related local travel within the partner school district and Tampa Bay, across the state and may include to 1-2 trips per year nationally. Ultimately, the Programs Coordinator supports the achievement of university assisted community school outcomes by connecting university resources and programs to the university assisted community schools to help address improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies and connects with university resources across multiple departments and colleges and community resources to meet the needs of school district students to support their education, health and mental wellness, economic needs, employability, and overall wellbeing. Partners with school district, community organizations, and other university resources to increase student success (attendance, behavior, performance) through allocation of university and community resources. Partners with community schools to increase teacher recruitment and retention efforts through allocation of university resources, partnerships with community organizations, and school district assistance. Support the university assisted community schools project, partnerships, and initiatives. Liaise between the university, school district, and community organizations on all project related activities.
Increases knowledge and skills related to university assisted community schools through engagement in technical assistance training and workshops. Collects feedback and data from school district and community partners to share with project leadership as part of a continuous improvement cycle. Provides technical assistance to community school sites.
Supervises students in advancing project objective, partnerships, and initiatives.
Supports activities to meet project timelines and deliverables, collect necessary data, and create reports. Attends and participates in regional university assisted community schools steering committee.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, human development, family science, community science, public health, or a closely related field and 4 years of experience. Experience engaging in community-centered research and/or services in an educational context.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in education, psychology, social work, human development, family science, community science, public health, or a closely related field and 3 years of experience. Experience partnering with a range of community organizations and/or units within a university setting. Experience seeking and coordinating university and/or community resources. Experience working on grant-funded projects.
