Salary Range

$21.68 - $24.00 per hour DOE


Essential Duties

  • Analyzes community needs, issues, and concerns regarding the university and  college/campus and develops and organizes strategies to address.
  • Acts as liaison with the community and represents the college/campus and the university as directed.
  • Establishes and maintains linkages to professional, community, and business leaders; government representatives; non-profit organizations and social service agencies to further the mission of the university.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of objectives and goals for community outreach and community relations for the college/campus and the university.
  • Assists with strategic planning and with the development and implementation of long and short-term goals and develops goals and objectives based on department and university goals.
  • Coordinates a resource network that may include working with volunteers, faculty, students and staff to plan and execute external and internal events.
  • Performs needs analysis and assessments aimed at identifying opportunities to inform the public and the general community about the university and the college/campus.
  • May lead, provide direction, and train other staff, volunteers and/or student employees.
  • Performs special projects and other duties and may act on behalf of the Office of Public Affairs and Community Development.
  • Prepares reports on performance of the unit in a variety of areas including outreach activities and other program activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three years related administrative experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
