The position will support USDA-funded project focused on developing, delivering and evaluating pilot education campaigns to reduce consumer food waste in three U.S. cities and developing and delivering a complementary extension program that builds on the knowledge generated during the pilot campaigns to support organizations interested in developing and delivering consumer food waste reduction campaigns in their own communities.

The duties include assisting the Project Director in 0rganizing and leading meetings with external partners; liaising with staff from cities participating in the project; coordination with community partners, developing and implementing consumer food waste reduction campaigns and developing and implementing campaign evaluations; in coordination with an external contractor, planning and coordinating waste audit collection routes and schedules; organizing shared files where collected data sets are stored; coordinating other extension and research activities.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Strong written and oral communication skills; experience managing projects of moderate scope and complexity; human subjects research experience; ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing targeted education or behavioral change campaigns; knowledge of consumer sustainability initiatives; data organization, management and analysis skills.

The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
