Position Highlights

The Western Environmental Science Technical Assistance Center for Environmental Justice (WEST EJ Center) is seeking a highly motivated outreach coordinator. The mission of the WEST EJ Center is to work as authentic partners with communities towards environmental and energy justice by being a one-stop shop for hands-on technical assistance, multi-faceted training, and other eligible forms of assistance, resources, and support to community members. The outreach coordinator will work directly with the Associate Director, serve on the Leadership team and directly engage with community members, partners and other key stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure the smooth execution of outreach programs, coordinating outreach program logistics, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve outreach program objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Assist the Associate Director with drafting reports, reviewing community members’ utilization of services, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports for leadership, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Be the primary point of contact for WEST EJ Center clients for program-related inquiries, clarifications, and updates, and coordinate efforts across WEST EJ Center teams and partners.
  • Maintain and create compelling content on social media, web, newsletter, and other outreach media.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Tasks may require investigation  of multiple alternatives to support outreach programs, requiring some innovation and creativity in consultation with technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and meet desired expectations.
  • Attention to detail and excellent skills in time management and documentation of tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, with diverse groups/individuals in at least Spanish and English.
