Job Overview

The Addiction Sciences Division within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is seeking multiple individuals to serve as a Community Intervention Facilitator in the HEALing Communities Study (HCS).  

 

The Community Intervention Facilitator serves a key role in the HEALing Communities Study (HCS), a large, multi-site clinical trial funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) within the states of Ohio, KY, Mass and NY. The study will use community engaged methods to unite experts and community stakeholders to narrow service gaps with the goal of reducing opioid deaths by 40%. In Ohio, the study will be carried out across nineteen communities. The Community Intervention Facilitator will be based in the community and will report to the Intervention Core Team at the University of Cincinnati.  

 

The Community Intervention Facilitator will provide technical support and assistance for Ohio counties participating in the HCS and serve as a resource and primary point of contact to specific counties and Technical Experts and assist them with identification and implementation of evidence-based practices. The Community Intervention Facilitator position is currently available in the following counties;  Allen, Brown, Franklin, Huron, Jefferson, Ross, Stark, and Williams.  Preference will be given to applicants that currently reside in or live in close proximity to the county for which they are applying for.
 

 


Essential Functions
  • Under general supervision, provide technical support and assistance for Ohio Counties participating in the HEALing Communities Study (HCS).
  • Serve as a resource and primary point of contact to counties, technical experts, and service venues and assist them with identification and implementation of Evidence Based Practices.
  • Serve as a resource to other members of the HCS study team, including but not limited to Community Engagement and Data Management Coordinators within their county.
  • Engage in the conduct of Clinical Research including explaining the HCS study to community stakeholders, the collection of research data, research data entry, adherence to protocol.
  • Study Communication with selected counties in Ohio
  • Liaise between counties in the HCS, various study cores, and the Intervention Core leadership at the University of Cincinnati
  • Facilitate strategic planning processes by mobilizing community stakeholders and champions.
  • Coordinate the implementation of community-selected Evidence Based Practices in assigned county/counties, monitor and report on progress.
  • Communicate through multiple mediums including telephone, email, teleconference services (WebEx, Skype, Microsoft Teams).
  • Above Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use them in daily tasks
  • Plan and coordinate meetings within the community including scheduling and documenting meeting minutes.
  • Work with community leaders and the UC Intervention Core, UC/UCH to ensure timely execution of required contracts or agreements required for the HCS within communities
  • Collaborate with Community Engagement and Data Management coordinators.
  • Timely and accurate data collection and reporting
  • Assist in development of reports
  • Ability to independently travel to multiple locations throughout Ohio
  • Serve as a resource to other members of the HCS study team, including but not limited to Community Engagement and Data Management Coordinators within their count.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience within a community setting.
  • Local and state travel required
  • Some evenings and weekends required

 

 


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Experience working in addiction treatment and/or recovery
  • Experience in quality improvement methodology in complex settings (i.e., healthcare, justice system)
  • Experience working in Clinical Research
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Experience working on an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Data collection and data entry with REDCap
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/community coalition information
