Posting Summary
This position is responsible for community building, outreach, and engagement initiatives at the Prism Center. This includes designing and implementing a comprehensive outreach strategy to connect queer and trans students to resources, producing the Center’s signature annual events, developing creative outreach activities and materials, and collaborating with students and campus partners for a more supportive and affirming campus. This position recruits, trains, and supervises student employees, and reports to the Director of the Prism Center.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one to three years of experience required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working to foster diversity, social justice, and equity for gender and sexual minorities required. Experience with event planning, community building, and in social media and digital communications is essential. Effective organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are required. Able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working in youth advocacy or with LGBTQ+ college students and/or young adults. Experience in an outreach role. Familiarity with the basic principles of budgeting, program assessment & evaluation. Supervisory experience.

Occasional extended/weekend hours required.
Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Background Check required for this position

Union Position Yes, UVMSU ($20 minimum hourly rate)
