The compensation for this appointment will range from $22.00 to $24.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.

Position Summary Information


Summary
The Community Engagement and Innovation (CEI) Coordinator is tasked with fostering communication, collaboration, and active involvement among both internal and external community members, stakeholders, and organizations. In this pivotal role, they act as a vital link between the CBSS and the community, ensuring accurate and transparent representation of the CBSS mission within the community. The CEI Coordinator will take charge of overseeing CBSS event planning and execution, managing social media presence, championing college programs and initiatives, conducting community research and data analysis, and spearheading initiatives and partnerships that fortify the college’s network. Additionally, they will provide supportive assistance to the Director of Academic Operations in advancing the college’s mission and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CBSS Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to plan and execute events, including advisory council meetings, faculty meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, and community outreach programs.
  • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, and guest invitations for all CBSS events.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the college’s online presence and engagement with the community.
  • Create and curate content for various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor analytics and generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of social media efforts.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with community partners, alumni, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and support for college initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate community outreach activities, including volunteer events, workshops, and informational sessions.
  • Responsible for budget planning, tracking, and reporting related to events, social media, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Work closely with financial departments to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and policies.
  • Provide general administrative support to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
  • Coordinate, update, and produce marketing materials for CBSS.
  • Serve as project Coordinator, including but not limited to, maintaining CBSS web pages, master calendar, updating catalogs and handbooks, newsletters, etc.
  • Create and execute strategies to effectively engage with the community, aligning with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including community members, local businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and other organizations.
  • Act as a liaison between the CBSS and the community, ensuring that information is conveyed accurately and transparently.
  • Collect feedback from community members and stakeholders to understand their needs, concerns, and suggestions. This information can be used to inform decision-making.
  • Represent the interests and concerns of the community, ensuring that their voice is heard in decision-making processes.
  • Raise awareness about the College’s programs, services, and initiatives that are relevant to the community.
  • Address community concerns, conflicts, or crises in a timely and effective manner, working towards resolution and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Work closely with various departments within the CBU community (e.g., marketing, public relations, operations) to align community engagement efforts with overall CBSS goals.
  • Track engagement metrics, feedback, and participation levels to assess the impact of community engagement initiatives. Provide regular reports to management.
  • Conduct research on community demographics, needs, and trends to inform engagement strategies and program development.
  • Advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit the community, and work with policymakers and local government to address community concerns.
  • Build and maintain trust with the community through consistent, transparent, and respectful communication and actions.
  • Ensure that engagement efforts are inclusive and considerate of the diverse perspectives and needs within the community.
  • Assists the Director of Academic Operations with administrative duties, providing support as needed.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.

    Education and/or Experience
    Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
