Job Summary: The Community Education Assistant Director supports the development and coordination of community education programs. Assists in evaluation of the effectiveness of programs. Facilitates community partnerships. Provides technical assistance to both internal and external community partners. Generates funding support for identified projects and programs. Requires considerable travel to rural and undeveloped areas of the state of Alabama. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Additional Department Summary: Assists in developing, coordinating, and implementing existing and emerging community education programs, evaluates effectiveness of programs, facilitates community partnerships, provides technical assistance to both internal and external community partners, generates funding support for identified projects and programs, and establishes state and local networks that support the goals and objectives of the Center for Community-Based Partnerships. This position involves research surrounding current trends in community education.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or Ph.D. and some experience.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Must have excellent problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills and be professional when dealing with all aspects of key programs. Should have demonstrated leadership skills and be resourceful.
