GENERAL DESCRIPTION | In 1890, when advanced education was often reserved for society’s elite, Chicago minister Frank Wakely Gunsaulus delivered what came to be known as the “Million Dollar Sermon.” Gunsaulus said that with a million dollars he could build a school where students of all backgrounds could prepare for meaningful roles in a changing industrial society. The Program Manager is an administrative professional that plans, manages, implements, markets, and evaluates Office of Community Affairs programs and projects. |
COMMUNICATIONS | Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills and strong knowledge of grammar; experience proofreading and editing; Communicate clearly with and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, individuals, and demographically diverse populations; |
CUSTOMER SERVICE | Facilitate conversations with community members and respond to queries via email, and telephone; Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with internal and external constituents; Demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, diplomacy, resourcefulness, with a strong work ethic; exhibit a positive, ‘can do’ attitude; no job is too big or too small; be a self-starter that is solutions oriented with good instincts and decision making skills; and develop relationships with a broad range of donors, collaborative partners, and program participants. |

Qualifications
Education & Experience | A minimum of three years work experience as a project coordinator/manager; BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field; and Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite is required, knowledge of the Adobe Suite is a positive. |

Physical Environment and Requirements | Frequently stand/walk, sit, and perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation. Occasionally twist, bend, stoop, squat , reach above shoulders, write by hand, sort/file paperwork, and lift, carry, push, or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. |

Key Responsibility | Work with the AVP to ensure proper planning, organization, coordination, marketing, and execution of departmental programs, initiatives, and events. This includes the set-up, execution, and cleanup of all events. |
