Communications Strategist

The Communications Strategist is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communication plans for the Health Sciences – Phoenix campus and the Arizona Health Education Alliance, designed to increase visibility, to support the business goals, to generate student inquiries for programs and to help position the school and the Alliance brand in the marketplace. This team member stays abreast of changes in the communications environments to best serve the objectives of the school and adjusts plans accordingly.  The Communications Strategist is responsible for managing projects and actively collaborating with staff, faculty and leaders across the University and Alliance.  This position will implement plans effectively and includes writing, editing, obtaining approvals, managing photo/video sessions and understanding online strategies. 

The Communications Strategist works closely with designated school and Alliance leaders to develop compelling content for all communications channels - website, social media, newsletters, etc. This position will manage, post and listen to social media properties for the Health sciences - Phoenix Campus and the Alliance.

 


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications or related field is required;

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in communications.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to use data to drive strategy and monitor results;

Proven ability to develop a comprehensive communications plan and implement best in class communication activities;

Knowledge and experience with social media and communication tactics including online content;

Ability to lead and manage the work of staff to deliver quality work and deadlines;

Ability to consult and collaboratively work with a variety of subject matter experts and leaders;

Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;

Demonstrate strong business acumen and be a persuasive presenter;

Ability to work evening, weekend, and holiday

 

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Must have a current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years and no major violations within the last 5 years
